I'm still puzzled by the glass blowing out though. Had to be muzzle blast.

It looked to me like the thug got one round off, which hit the glass case. Watch the slide of his gun right before he gets punched out by 220 grains of American freedom.

So here's what went down ... we've finally got the whole story.

It was the day after Christmas, morning time, the store had just opened (notice the showcases are all open for restocking).

Owner and employee were stocking the shelves for the day, bringing guns out of the safe, etc. Two customers were already in the store.

Bad guys walk in and demand everyone get down on the floor or they would kill everyone.

Owner pulls his Wilson Combat 1911 in defense (with an 8 round mag and one in the pipe) and fires three shots at the closest perp the one doing all the talking and threatening to kill everyone ... hitting the bad guy twice, first time 3 inches right of center in the sternum and then one of the next two shots, as the bad guy is going down, hits the bad guy in the face just under his eye. That one ended it immediately.

Dead bad guy on the floor was carrying two pistols, one a Glock in 40 S&W with a 33 round mag and the other a Glock 22LR ... you can see both of those dropped in the video.

Owner then fires four times at second bad guy who had taken cover behind another case and then runs out the door ... he is still at large (but they know who he is). Owner told two customers not to run out of store after second bad guy ... it proved prophetic as video from another store shows second bad guy turned at corner of strip mall and waited for someone to come out of the door to fire upon them, but no one chased so there were lives saved right there.

The shattered glass case was the result of the first guy firing a shot at the owner which barely missed the owner, went through the glass showcase top and lodged in the door behind him.

Owner was shooting FMJ (45 ACP ball ammo to those of us who served back in the day) in his 1911.

Owner normally was loaded with Federal HPs but but he had been shooting the day before and had not cleaned and reloaded his pistol with his normal PD load yet ... so he still had the ball practice ammo loaded.

Dead bad guy is from New Orleans and just recently moved to Atlanta with family. Family are good people ... kid was bad kid.

Other kid on the loose is from Atlanta and he has a record ... he is still at large.

What the men weren't aware of is that Groover had a gun of his own. Feeling like his life was on the line, he pulled the trigger, shooting and killing one of the suspects. The other is still on the run.

Rule 2: if you do rob a gun store, assume everyone working there is armed.

Appears to me that high dollar HP ammo is pointless with a .45. Those ball rounds dropped that guy like a sack of potatoes.

.45 ACP, huh? Remember that scene from "Gravity" where the astronaut got hit in the face with space debris and pretty much the only thing left of his melon was the rind? Same idea.

They should put a warning on the door.

FMJ will go through the individual and also hit whatever is behind him.

I'm just wondering, would their be a charge if one of the store employees repeatedly kicked the lifeless body of that POS?? I'm genuinely curious

Would have been interesting to see what the lighter and faster 10mm would have done, carrying about 175% of the muzzle energy that .45ACP has. Or 9mm in +P loadings, which would have been similar to the .45ACP FMJ in muzzle energy.

Unlikely? The guy had two people with guns drawn on him.

And that guy is a beast. No hesitation. Calm under pressure. Dropped the frick out of the first target with the quickness. Trump should pin a medal on this guy once he's sworn in as an example of how shite needs to start operating around this country.

that's sick. he could have just shot him in the leg and then called police. why did he have to shoot so many times? the bad guy didn't shoot at him first. unreal how in today's society people feel like they can just shoot someone.

Needs a little work. Not subtle enough.
