The results I posted are correct.

I get aggravated with the wife any time she tries to bring our dogs into situations where something could happen mainly due to us being distracted with something else.

While she tends to the flower garden in front of the house or doing yard work out front she wants to let the dogs out unleashed. Problem that I have is that cars are driving by the house or other folks walking in front of our house with their dogs or kids. She doesn't get it though, just thinks our dogs are so god damn smart they won't do something to get themselves killed or hurt.

1) If the water was that rough to where you cannot swim, you shouldn't jump in.

2) Your own life is always more valuable than an animal life - literally always. If you think otherwise you have a mental deficiency. I love dogs too, but you won't ever see me risk my life to save one. Go buy another one after you have your little funeral or whatever. You'll get over Sparky's untimely demise, I promise. If you make the personal decision to risk your life to save your dog's, you deserve whatever happens next. Hence Darwin.
