It's over.
That's a shame. I always held out hope. We had many a Thursday night $.25/oysters in that joint.
Bring on the next corner liquor store.

Jewish lightning? hasn't it been vacant for a few years?

If you don't think there won't be an insurance investigation...

Yeah, it's been closed for a while. I always held out hope it or another restaurant would open there. I lived about 4 blocks behind it closer to First Baptist for many years.

That's considered an improvement to real estate in most of the Shreveport metro area.

less available real estate = rents going up all over town = landlords hailing a real estate boom...

It is a weird area.
You know the new circle K about a block up? The old one adjacent to it is going to become a liquor store, hence my earlier comment. That area has potential, but it's going down the shitter quick. Even the cheveron across the street from Don's closed.
It's a shame, because that area is good access for everyone regardless what side of Kings you live on.

Don's seafood has been closed for like 15+ years.

probably a good thing
empty lot is a lot easier to sell than a giant old building
let's see if the owner collects any of that insurance money

Side note. Went to Shreveport last month for the first time in quite a while. Crossing the river on the interstate, all those casinos look trashy AF.

there's a good reason for that

That makes it's demise even worse. Year in, year out, sitting there like a relic of better times.
It's was a landmark. An icon. A shining light at the edge of the ghetto.
I digress. I really liked that place, and anyone giving directions in Shreveport today would be like, "Head down Kings past Byrd HS and turn right at Don's Seafood."

All casinos are trashy, unless you live in Monte Carlo. It is part of the allure.
Hell even Monte Carlo is trashy in an extravagant sort of way.

Roger, that is a quality OT quote that will likely not earn the respect that it is due
