I just don't see why they get so up in arms about it and have to confront them. You did your job and served. If someone wants to monkey around in a costume who cares? It's not like they're about to pick up a weapon and take a stand and put lives in danger

Actually, caring about this makes you an SJW buddy. Being a freedom loving Ameircan makes me not want to trample on someone's legal rights

i just don't understand why this guy doesn't do something more proactive with his time than this. Plus, if I were going to pretend to do a different job it would probably be pro golfer or something. They probably pull way more trim than special forces anyway

you honestly can't see where being falsely impersonated by a civilian who's never put their life in danger to serve their country would take offense to it? are you a frittata?

I can see taking offense to it but this guy has some issues to get so worked up about it to make outing them his life mission. Man, loosen up. Life's too short

To be honest, 99% of these military men are upset because they want the limelight and recognition themselves

Besides, even me with no service can 9/10 tell when someone is full of shite about their military service. The only thing worse than these fakers are the guys who let you know about it 24/7. That said, I'm appreciative of their service but man loosen up!

My dad's reaction to this is pretty easy to assume. He served in Vietnam until '97 or so.
(Watching Fox News drinking a Coors Light)
'Dad, what do you think about these imposters?"
(Coors light moves half inch away from lips, eyes to mine)
"It's kinda fricked up"

Your dad stayed in Vietnam until 1997?

Naw, just typed too fast.
He did guard prisoners at Guantanamo though back in 1995. That was pretty cool. They got hit by a hurricane while he was there. Probably not as cool.
Egypt in 1992 as well. That was awesome for me as I was in 2nd grade at the time when ancient Egypt was my thing.

He's retired after serving 25 years in the US Navy as a SEAL. He's earned the right to spend his time doing whatever it is that brings him joy and peace.
Wouldn't you agree?

The problem with this is there are people out there not just claiming to be something they are not, but receiving benefits in the form of respect, jobs, and other thing you couldn't even imagine all from a lie.

Not it at all.
It's a matter of respect. You are a douche bag if you claim to have earned something that your didn't. No matter what it is. some people handle it differently, People who sumit Mt. Everest will call you a liar, may even put it out in print. SEALS will find you, out you and post it for all to see, and tell the world who you really are, 1% mc's will kill you because of it.
When you lie about who you are you put yourself in their world, you better be ready to answer for yourself.

quote:Wow, that is a whole lot of try hard douche for one post. And wow again, people would kill a likely mentally ill person for faking to be a soldier. Crazy people out there
