I remember when a bridge collapsed at FIU. Maybe it's a Florida thing...

Never understood the point of staying put in a resort when traveling. They all look the same.

To each its own. I live a pretty active life so getting some relaxation on vacation is my thing. Others like to do things so more power to them

I get the relaxation part. I don't get spending Antigua or Turks money to stay the entire time in a resort that looks like one in Cancun.

The chances of it happening anywhere are rather remote, outside of a natural disaster.

Anyone that leaves the resort in the DR is taking a big gamble.

That’s low rent vacation. A step above a Carnival cruise. We did PC once back in 2009. There were 4-5 places to eat on property and they were same mid level ,at best , menu everyday. Two overcrowded pools with mid-day loud music with DJs. Beachfront was about 300 yds wide and full of huts with pushy locals trying to sell DR themed Chinese made trinkets.

Just an overall trashy experience.

let's not forget what happened at the Hard Rock in NOLA

Let’s see if the government in the Dominican Republic leaves a body in the rubble and shuts down surrounding businesses for 10 months.

Should have made it a permanent FQ attraction. T shirt/gift shop on the ground floor, take the Teedyvator up to see the Body.

Head over to the Travel board, there are a ton of people that don't realize anything exists that isn't in Mexico or the Caribbean on a regular basis.

We flew into DR on a connection to the Turks for our honeymoon. Overhead, it looked like what I'd imagine Somalia to look like. And they gave us a ton of shite in security for no reason, and 7 check points, just to get to our connecting flight. DR is a total shite show, and that's just the airport.
