Despite what MetteHead is posting Dominican ain't hurting for girls. The school is doing just fine and the 8th grade class while a little smaller than usual is not off.....they have far more than 87 girls registered and enrolled (SIL has taught there for 15 years).

Also whomever was saying there is a "woke" culture at the school is talking out their arse and spewing verbal diarrhea. In the NOLA metro there are no "woke" Catholic HS. The libs reside on Jefferson Avenue(Newman) and in Old Metairie (Country Day) as well as Magazine(McGhee).

The Catholic Schools virtually make up the middle and upper middle class in the area. In short they are the Republicans of the area and their kids are reflective of their parents. Can the Dominican girls be a little bitchy and cliques......yep. So can the girls from MCA, Chapelle, Ursulines and Sacred Heart.

The biggest problem ALL of them have is that so much of the alumnae are living on the Northshore and their kids are going to the public schools there. But overall the old line Catholic schools are doing fine.

I have kids at Newman and McGehee. They aren't as woke as you would think. Most of the parents are democrats and complain that the schools aren't liberal enough. Despite the lofty tuitions these schools rely heavily on benefactors and alumni donations that come from some very conservative people. Just look at the name on the new Newman building on Jefferson.

Money talks and BS walks.

This whole statement is pathetic. Thefact that you spend this much time worrying about such trivial matters is mind boggling. It’s just high school!

You have access to the number of applicants?

I’m very involved at the school. If my daughter goes there, I’m going to do my part.

Someone posted a few pages ago that the number is around 130 for 8th grade.

Ever so slightly more than that, but that is far more accurate.

It's not just the academic experience you pay for, it's also the network. I have multi generational experience that bears that out. Whenever I hear someone bragging about sending their kids to Lusher for free, I politely smile and nod.

There were several guards, and quite a few dads, walking around the parking lot keeping an eye on things, which I appreciated

Then you saw me. I attend every event as does my daughter. I was the jacked dude, lol.

The security is very good and I can guarantee you, at any event your daughter is safe.

That was awesome, they now have alumnae rally day

You should make it a point to come for the pink game v MCA. A lot of alum make the game and it’s pretty impressive.

Exactly what is wrong with New Orleans, and the reason why the smart kids leave the state/city. But continue on.

No, like I’m really really jacked. I’m retired so I am my daughter’s personal Uber driver, and when I’m free if my duties, I’m in the gym.

It helps with shite from being deployed all the time and it beats taking a bunch of meds.

This only applies if someone plans to set up shop in South Louisiana and spend their entire life there.. which, in the 21st century, is a terrible idea.. it’s far more advantageous to move to any number of metro areas where no one gives a shite “where you went to high school .”

Well it's important to get into the right krewe so you can come back once a year and ride in a parade.

Realignment for LHSAA is coming up. We will get everyone’s real 9-12 numbers soon.

Says the person spending time on a LSU message board. LOL.

The future of business is not going to be nearly as location based as it used to be. People want to live and work in interesting places, not business parks in plain ol Texas. Lost in all the Nola bashing about potholes and dipshit politicians is that people with money are moving here and sending their kids to these schools. Unfortunately most of them are democrat carpetbaggers, but things are a lot better here than they were 30 years ago. I remember the late 80s and early 90s.

WTF ? Not sure what that has to do with a gotdam thing.. Yes, i am originally FROM South Louisiana , i attended LSU and root for the area sports teams.. but i had the good sense to get out for the sake of my career and earning potential, without being stuck in some cancer alley .

Besides, and i think there have already been thread son this- but most posters on TD live outside of S Louisiana .
