Wow someone is touchy
I'm just going off of what the OP said about the woke thing. Usually when businesses starts to skid that is one of the causes lately. And as far as the marketing thing that would be lipstick on a pig considering that location.

Do me this, actually explain why you don't believe this could happen.
Logistically it wouldn't happen, it would be way too expensive...
If these meetings happened, why wasn't the purchase made?
When you say meetings, who was there? You said Retif was there, who else, anyone from the Archdiocese, any reps from Shaw, or was it just a bunch of Jesuit people there spouting, we have an idea, let's buy Shaw for our Westbank students.
If an archdiocese rep was there, did they tell the Jesuit people to kick rocks at their idea, just curious to see why it never came to fruition.

The competition for students in Nola metro is really high. Dominican has a few things working against them at the moment.
1. Being in Nola and having to deal with the BS that comes with that. Avegno’s ridiculous Covid stuff and Latoya’s general mismanagement of the city. Plus People are more concerned about crime when it comes to their daughters as opposed to where their sons go to school.
2. Being known as a not overly fun HS experience
3. Chappelle trending upward and also being the only major HS in JP so #1 doesn’t affect them.
They’re recent struggles are way more related to the three reasons above then them being “woke”. Though I will say they were always more liberal leaning that MCA or ACHS.

What’s the most popular sport for the NOLA all girls schools?
Seems like it’s volleyball here.

Not sure about popular, but Dominican and Mt Carmel are constantly 2 of the best girls soccer teams every year

Dominican has been pretty dominant in volleyball lately and will probably win state again this year.
That’s the only girls sport I keep up with.

Almost a million dollars, tax free, in tuition. Nothing wrong with that.

Ironic, Avegno is a Dominican alumnus.

One of the most beautiful girls I ever met was from Dominican HS at a track meet back in 2004…..
Thick long hair, caramel skin, pretty green eyes…..
Even my little sister was trying to get me to hook up with her…
I hope she’s doing well in life…

No one got carjacked in the damn carpool lane.
There is no where for the carjacker to carjack between all the clustered cars and the street pot holes.
My 3 girls are Dominican graduates(2 engineers and a nurse); Dominican prepped all 3 to be successfull in college.
The only issue is that Dominican is quite cliquish which was only an issue for one as the other 2 found the nerd group pretty easy.

Shaw is run by Salesians based in NJ. When Shaw was on the verge of closing (they were heading toward low 300s in enrollment over 5 grades) the Salesians were considering pulling out. There would be an empty campus with no one running the campus. Jesuit was exploring an opportunity if the Salesians left LA. Ultimately they decided to stay, this they still run the school and it looks like they've been able to keep kids on the WB as numbers have trended back up, but nowhere near the 900 or so in the 80s. Shaw has reinvested in itself over the past decade so it looks like the decision to stay paid off.

MCA track team in the early 2000s was straight smoke. It was insane. Many are milfs to this day.

I met a girl at a speech tournament in HS and was immediately smitten. We only talked a few minutes but I never forgot her. Years and years later fate conspired for her to show back up in my life. She turned out to be a raging bitch.

Boys could care less(maybe not for Jesuit)-- for girls it could mean the end of the world.

I’m friends with one who ran in the early 90’s for them and ran on some of those awesome LSU teams. She’s still pretty damn good looking at age 47 or so.
