It's a perfect example considering this is what people say about their preference vs the others.
We must have different meanings of the word "perfect," because it's a horrible example with regard to this thread. It has nothing to do with anything. If you can't taste the difference between chocolate and licorice, your tongue isn't working. That has nothing to do with this.

I basically was brought up on Miller lite. I agree with the headaches

When did a 6 pack of Bud light get more expensive than a 6 pack of Yuengling Light at Winn Dixie?

Not trashy but a weird thing to take such an extreme stand. The taste is definitely different between them but not enough to consider one good while the other is undrinkable. Free beer is the best beer.

I have actually done this before. I worked at one of the bars near campus when i was in school, and one night we did a blind taste test to see how many of bud light, coors light, miller light, mich ultra and bud heavy we could each get right. About 10 of us (mostly bartenders that had worked there for a while) took part in it, and i think the total amount of correct answers between all of us was below 50%. I think miller is the only one that truly branches off in terms of discernible taste and its not a big difference. Most people were able to get bud heavy though.

I already have. They taste similar yet different. Most people will not be able to identify them blindly, but they will still have their preference. You're being a docuhebag. Please stop.

Oh good, we needed a second person to make this same stupid point.

They all taste like piss.

I'm still not sure what your argument is.
ETA: sorry, that last part was for lnch

So his boss says he only drinks bud light because of the taste
If in a blind taste test, his boss then picks miller as his favorite, wouldnt that show miller is actually his favorite tasting beer, and he was being prejudice to branding?
I am not trolling just trying to see where you are coming from

he couldn't have just manned up and drank the beer without complaining about how icky it was?
Posted on 1/30/19 at 4:11 pm to PortHudsonPlaya
miller light is a shitty american pilsner (and i like pilsners) and tastes like it to me. its the only free beer i will politely turn down.
i'm pretty sure that i would drink all other domestics. your company fricked up. Coors light and bud light are shitty, watered-down, easy-drinking lagers.

Bud and Miller don't taste the same
They don't taste the same but it's not like there's some massive difference. I'm certainly not paying for my own crap brand instead of drinking another crap brand for free.

My argument is the results of one blind test is irrelevant to a person's overall preference. Additionally, these beers taste similar enough that even if they didn't pick their go to beer out of the blind test, that really doesn't mean much of anything.
And of course, the main point is who gives a frick what someone else likes and what their reasons are.

I was brought up to where if someone is treating you to an evening of drinks, beers, dinner, whatever, you don't complain about what they're offering.

If the taster always chooses the same beer, maybe you are on to something. But that would then demonstrate that there are obvious differences in the beers, so I'd still be right.
Also the kind of person that would always pick the same beer likely prefers the beer that they always pick.

Picking Miller Lite over the local craft beers would be trashy.
Paying for Bud Light over the free Miller is ignorant.
Drink what you want, though.
