When I was in grad school we had to do certain volunteer things on campus, and we did a Walk a Mile in her shoes program, and honestly I was shocked with how many women were abused in some way.

Great, and while I would probably dispute the 1 in 4 number, at least it's over a lifetime, not actively right now.

If anything, this number is lower than the actual, because the can only record it if the victim speaks out I believe.
Either way, I agree, 1 in 5 seems high for active, but I would not be surprised either.
