Anyone have experience with an aging standard poodle that began having seizures at age 13? Vet highly suspects brain tumor. Too old for surgery or radiation. Just trying to foresee the future!

Vet should maybe confirm that for you

I don't, but would say go to the vet and have it checked out.

All you should do is make them comfortable and happy. Spoil them. When their quality of life degrades, put them to rest

Give it lots of cheese

Love it and make it as comfortable as possible

Had to put one down last year. Seizure medicine was terrible and the tumor fast growing. Tried what we could but the best we had was spoiling the hell out of her for a couple weeks while giving it a shot to diagnose and figure out options.

Should have gone with the automatic poodle.

What you feeding him?
We have dog that had them all the time changed her eating habits and they stopped

I know what is going to happen. Just trying to see if anyone has been through it and knows what it looks like. Shes fine until she has a seizure. Not sure how to gauge the timing. Was just looking for info, nothing else. But thanks for your heartfelt reply. Enjoy your evening.

Man don’t be a dick! Some dogs are like people’s kids!

Take him to LSU Vet School if you are in area.
It will cost you a bit more but the doctors will get right to the problem and give you every scenario and probability for you to make the best decision.
I was in a similar situation with my dog 12 years ago and I am glad I went to LSU.

I’m sorry for being a dick.

She’s on 1500 mg of Kepra 3 times a day. She seems fine, just old when she’s not having a seizure. They were pretty rare until late last week. Had one a day three days in a row. Just wondering how I’ll know it’s time. I realize meds are only treating symptoms. Want to be as good to her as possible! Thanks for your response.

She’s been to a neurologist. That’s where we got brain tumor info.
