Dog owners and listing a house

Looking at listing our house in the next month. We have a big dog and no family nearby to watch him while listing. What are some things people do during this process with pets?

Make sure you wipe his arse so he doesn’t get shite on the furniture

I loaded the dog in the car every time we had a showing

It was a miserable process but that's generally how it goes when your wife wants something nicer.

Can you just take him for a walk when people come look?

I have a well trained german shepherd. Don't even own a kennel

What to do with the dog isn't the problems, its vacuuming every flipping night to get rid of the hair.

Usually the realtor gives you notice of a showing. Quite a shock to them when they don't.

Yes. I asked for a heads up so i could go home, pick up dog, and drive around until the showing was done.

Bury and dig them up with each viewing.

We did big weekends of showings and would just clean the house up all week then skip town for a weekend to my in-laws or something who live in another state. One time we rented a cabin and brought the dog as well.

Also - invest in a Roomba or some other robot vac.
I run that fricker nightly when there's even a chance our realtor will want to show our house.
Also, try putting some good smelling essential oils on the cardboard frame of the HVAC filters. Not a lot and several hours before people come over if you can. Spreads lavender or whatever scent you like lightly throughout every room. Covers up the dog a bit and isn't some overpowering Glade/Febreze scent that smells cheap.
Also get flowers that smell good like lillies.

And what about the smell and hair.

Just sold our house with 2 - 65lb+ dogs. We actually moved into a rental before we listed so there would be no issues with needing to get the dogs before someone came and looked at our house. It worked out very well for us, but talk with your agent, they may have a better way to handle it.

I sold my house at the beginning of Summer and our plan was to send ours to Dogtopia during the week.. Luckily our house sold in 36hrs so it made life way easier..

We have a black lab and we just locked him in his kennel whenever we had a showing. We let the agent that was coming know that he was there and he would bark when they went in.
It was hilarious watching the doorbell camera. Black lady and her daughter were there looking at the house. They walked in, he went to barking and they hauled arse out. Wish I would have saved that video
