When my son was 2 he walked up to my dog and grabbed him by the nuts. My dog didn't even blink. He hangs on him, rides on him, pulls his face, smacks him. My dog does nothing.
My mother-in-law has a small yorkie mix and my son walked near it while it was eating and the dog bit him hard in the arm.

My neighbor has had two big male pits and a bigger American Bulldog and my Aussie runs them all out of the yard when they get loose.
She uses speed to badger them (she runs at them full blast and they usually take off). My Aussie likes to go on night neighborhood copperhead patrols. My neighbor's first pit was pretty mellow and it was comical watching him eye my Aussie as she blazed around on patrol.

She whacked a copperhead that was in the shrubs surrounding the big "Desoto Parish" sign at the courthouse the other night.

My Neo Mastiff used to make the trash down the street's pitts piss themselves when they walked by the fence, I guess 250lbs of angry Neo will do that.
Still scariest I've ever seen in person was a Tibetan Mastiff. They look like some kinda lion, bear, and dog cross. Apparantely they have the attitude to go along with the looks.

I hope this little Paki doesn't seriously think he's gonna hold that dog back with his rope.

Dogos are Pits on steroids and stimulants, essentially.
Presas are Dogos on steroids.

This is true - I had a Chihuahua/Manchester mix as a kid. Female, spindly even, maybe 14 or 15 pounds peak weight. She identified as a human being and was not frightened of anything on 4 legs. She ruled an entire street.
I was 5ish and stepped into the front yard to see one of those (at the time) new fangled Dobermans everybody was so excited about (early 70s, baw) at the end of my driveway. Being a pussy, I froze. My dog didn't. She chased his arse 1/4 mile or so. There was a cocker spaniel down the street that she routinely made get out of his own yard so she could chill in his dog house.
Our neighbor raised beagles and she would whip a pack of 12 or 14 of those just for kicks. She religiously enforced the property line with those beagles.

While not quite as menacing looking as some of these breeds, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are pretty badass dogs. Also Irish Wolfhounds, which get gigantic though they just look lanky because of their height which averages nearly 3 feet.

Very true. I was doing some reading last night that got me into researching dog fighting and different breeds that are used around the world. It's interesting why certain breeds are used (gameness and fighting) and the different levels of fighters (street fighters v. hobbyists v. pros). It's also interesting how dog fighting is viewed in different regions. It's illegal in most countries, but in Japan for example, dog fighting is still legal. Russia is another exception, where you can find dogs sold for incredibly high amounts (based on lineage) for the sole purpose of fighting.
It's interesting, but also really sad how they breed, train, and use these dogs because many of these breeds can be otherwise great dogs when their pedigree doesn't largely consist of fighting dogs. Even sadder is how they prep these dogs to make them more "game."

Stone cold killer. No lizard, wasp, bumble bee or yellow jacket is safe in my back yard (unless it get's higher than about 24 inches from the ground).

Also my mini dachshund killed a rat the other day. I gave him a treat.

The Dogo Argentino was bred primarily from the extinct Cordoba Fighting Dog.
For some perspective on the dogo argentino's precursor
The Cordoba Fighting Dog is an extinct breed of fighting dog. The Cordoba was a crossbreed of Mastiff, Bull Terrier, English Bulldog, and Boxer.[1]. Its temperament includes being very fierce, very aggressive, strong, vigorous, and relentless (high stamina)[2]. A male would often kill the female during mating. Known to maul its owners and handlers.

Will let my daughter choose one of these pets when she goes off to college in a few years.
