Dog advice: Golden Retriever or Mini Aussie?

My family is having a lot of back-and-forth about which breed we want to buy. I am hoping there are folks here who can help steer us in one direction or the other.

Not sure about a mini Aussie, but you won’t regret the Golden. Awesome dogs

Get the Golden Retriever.

Whatever breed you decide upon, just know that both will require daily exercise, stimulation, socialization and discipline in a regular and structured environment.
Most obedience issues are related to their owner not doing any one of these.

I have 2 golden retrievers. 1 is more a golden observer and couch potato. They are great gentle dogs. They love to be around people and rarely leave the room I'm in.
The cons to golden retrievers is their shedding cycle. Mine shed their down coats 2 times a year. If you do not keep up with brushing them be prepared for tumble weeds of hair everywhere.
I have no experience with Mini Aussie.

Golden Retriever. Great with kids and super protective of them. Smartest dog I have ever owned and have had many.

We have 2 Golden’s they are awesome. Never have to worry about them being aggressive around kids or strangers. We keep ours shaved

If you love gobs of hair in your house, go with the golden.
They’re great dogs other than the shedding.

You made a thread like three days ago about the aussie you put a deposit on. Your check couldn't clear after the deposit?

Nothing is better than a golden retriever except Jesus Christ.

Had a mini aussie. Wonderful dogs. Great with my kids although it tried to herd them around a bit. Super intelligent. Ours got run over a week before Christmas. Going to get another although one of my kids wants a golden.

Goldens are the perfect family pet. Great with kids who want to love on them. They are playful but not to the point where they are destructive.
If your kids are older and the outdoors type, the aussie is great for hikes and camping. I've never had one. But some empty nesters who travel and basically live in the outdoors have a perfect mate. Lots of attention. But just tagging along on adventures qualifies.
I've always had a black lab with our golden. If you want a dog for you (not the family) this is the way to go. She sticks to the alfa like glue. Best friend. Not the best for kids who want to get in her face and love on her. But the best for me.
