Does your company drug test new hires as a condition of employment?

I work for a Fortune 100 company and had to take a drug test when I was hired a few years back. While at a meeting recently, I found out none of our new hires had to take drug test anymore as a condition of employment. It honestly blew my mind because I assumed everyone was still drug tested as part of the screening process. Does your company still drug test new hires?

Yes. They drug test and random the shite out of everyone. It’s a colossal waste of money.

I wouldn't have any employees other than two old farts if I did.

Yes, but I’m in a DOT sensitive position. Still think it’s stupid that I can’t get high on my days off if I want without it being assumed I’m performing my job under the influence.

I think it’s even dumber that people in an office environment could be subject to drug testing.

Licensure requires a drug test but not all employees get tested, only licensed and I have never heard of a random.

I did have to fire a dude for leaving a bunch of shake and a fricking blow straw in the van. I'm pretty lenient but goddamn.

I'm a cook. The only drug test is "do you have any drugs to share?"

Yes they do but refuse to allow us as mangers the ability to randomly drug test our technicians.

No. I’ve never been drug tested at any job I’ve ever had. First drug test I had was when I was getting life insurance

Don’t think my wife has either now that I think about nor have most of my friends. I don’t feel like most sectors care anymore. If someone has an issue with drugs, it will show up in their performance, and if that performance doesn’t possibly endanger the safety of others, seems like a waste of everyone’s time and money TBH

Taking new job and yes, they do. I think every employer who requires TWIC will test you.

Every major company I have worked for required a pre-employment drug screen.

Nope. No drug testing at the company I work for now. Actually only worked for 1 company ever that required it, 3 Day Blinds over 20 years ago. I got the stuff that's B vitamins and creatine so I wouldn't have THC show up. Because I'm from norcal and it used to be illegal here but it was part of the subculture I came of age in.
