Yes it is. Add a slightly sweet taste to the RB’s

Also chicken and dumplings. Pretty much all I use it on but nothing else is as good to me

I layer them and use a ratio of one bean per ten gains of rice.

Rice is always the base. Anyone that does it backwards is a dumb arse.

Agree. Always rice first. Then beans and then a garnish.

It’s like some of you people have never eaten out at a restaurant
Just like Gumbo, you’re served the bowl or plate of gumbo or red beans and the rice is served on the side, in which you always dump the rice on top of the dish.
Jeez you people need to get out more.

Depends on the bowl or plate.
Usually I like to mix rice and cornbread and then add the red beans and sausage.
I like it when its smoked deer sausage too.

Downvote all you want but you know I’m right.
You don’t get served a bowl of rice and then pour your red beans or gumbo on top the rice....it’s the complete opposite

I eat it without the rice. Watching my carbs

Home rice first. Most restaurants, that care about presentation, add rice on top.

Personally I put my potato salad on a saucer and take a scoop of potato salad then a scoop of gumbo
But I’m not opposed to just putting a scoop on top of the gumbo and eating it like that
