I can honestly say I have never in my life gone to a restaurant and ordered red beans and rice
Not my problem

But if I did and they brought them separate I would still put the rice on the bottom.
Lol. You’re going to pour a bowl of red beans on a cup of rice??
Good luck with that’s

No rice in Gumbo either. Sausage is king.
I put very little rice in gumbo the first day, and no rice any day after that.

Mayo on shrimp poboys is a classic? Gonna have to say negative
Mayo, lettuce, and frid shrimp is a staple everywhere in this state outside of New Orleans. I'm sure some places go without, but some places out rice on top of red beans too.

I’m in Nola and I see a lot of butter on french bread instead of mayo.

What resturants in new Orleans do you visit the most during an average month or so?

So we can meet up, of course. Duh.

In don’t think I’ve ever eaten a Po Boy without mayo in 44 years

Mayo is OK in my book, just not my thing.

Some decent beer there, all the food is one thing I'm really going to miss about Louisiana.

Kinda seems like it is. The question didnt stipulate being served the dish in a restaurant setting. What part of on a plate is so difficult for you to comprehend? Learn to read maybe?

Anyone who puts the rice on top of the beans is freaking unAmerican.

I don't care whether it's rice on top or bottom...
as long as it's about 4 or 5 scoops of beans to 1 scoop of rice...

That's some New Orleans shite. IF I eat rice with anything....it goes first.

I'm not a fan of rice in my beans. Not sorry.
