Couldn't sleep worth a crap last night. My youngest son, 15, also had trouble sleeping. Both my kids always had trouble sleeping during the full moon ever since they were babies. I swear it happens a lot to me as well.

Anyone else notice that?

Goddammit. I couldnt figure out what kept me up last night. I didn't drink any alcohol or caffeine but I laid here until after 2:30 am.

I do the old "chain myself to a tree" technique. Tell you what, this silly curse is getting annoying.

Eta

And that flea shampoo makes my skin so damn dry.

Didn't fall asleep til 1:30 but I didn't go to bed til 12:30. Also that two hour nap with my daughter during the day may have played a part in that.

Seems to happen to me as well.

I never paid much attention to full moons until I became a middle school principal (many years ago).

As the full moon approached I always knew kids and adults would be crazier than normal that week.

I have other sleep issues, runs in my side of the family. My kids do not appear to have the same issue. However, the mothers side of the family do not have the general sleep issues that I do.

My kids, just like her and her side of the family can be asleep in 10 minutes and then sleep through the night.

I can never do that.

my theory has been that the full moon effects everyone. When it comes to behavior, if you already have some crazy in you the full moon makes it worse. If you are a calm individual the effect is not as noticeable.

Maybe the same with sleep. If you have other sleep issues then the full moon compounds those issues. If you are a person with no sleep issues perhaps those effects are not strong enough to impact your sleep.

There's some science behind that. Seems that even when you can't see it, a full moon messes up your sleep.

Me, I slept like dat rock.

Do you have a theory on the WHY part? Why would a full moon affect behavior?
