They changed that logo all because this one student from Texas in the school’s NAACP chapter made a huge fuss.

Yep. Administration spent all the funds on new athletic logos and redoing the mascot costume....twice. No money left over to change building names.

They were talking about this when I graduated... They even had student body voting on a new mascot..
If I'm not mistaken, the mascot was supposed to be changed to a canehusker.

We both are. I was there then too. Used to save the Western Sizzlin coupons from the NW. I still miss the Pedro tourneys in the union where the pitchers of beer flowed like rivers.
