They could have done more damage outside a police station at a shift change if simply murdering cops were the goal.

But they were part of this protest like it or not.

IS yelling "frick the Police" peaceful?

Eh. For a good 6 years or so I went to the March for Life in DC each January. It's a peaceful march, mainly of teens and young adults silently marching from the White House to the Supreme Court bldg.

Every year there's a very small number of "radicals" with bullhorns, chanting anti-abortion messages but centered around those who have an abortion going to hell, etc. Not peaceful in any way. Think the Westboro Baptist types. They'll get in the face of the few Pro-Choice people that watch and yell in their faces.

And every year the media reports on them, shows their actions when telling the story of the March.

So yes, there were reports of people yelling frick the Police last night and did so by virtue of the 1st Amendment's freedom of speech and peaceful assembly. But what I saw in the interviews following were black, white, and hispanic participants clearly demonstrating their pleas for peace and genuinely heartbroken that this occurred.

I'm slightly pissed that an event that triggered the death of 5 police officers is still being called "peaceful".

i think many watching would say that the event didnt trigger the deaths, but that the event was used by loon as an opportunity.

generally the accounts of the night prior to this were positive from what i have heard, and the reaction to this guys actions generally seemed to be as good as you could hope from both sides.

Few thousand people protesting.. and 3-4 individuals alone make the protest violent?

No sir. There were a handful of violent individuals and their actions were the opposite of the people protesting appropriately.

We should be applauding the peaceful protest and condemning the domestic terrorists.

My buddy was punched in the face outside Kyle Field a few years ago before an LSU/A&M game while chanting "LSU! LSU! LSU!"

Guess Aggies aren't peaceful.

Or they wanted an event with lots of spectators who would be filming it. They saw the protest as an opportunity to broadcast their work to the entire world and hijacked it.

Then they should call it a peaceful protest that turned violent.

A stray bullet hit the window of a 7-Eleven. When the window broke, people came in and started looting the place. Police responded, and formed a barrier around the shop to stop further looting. The would be looters who remained stood there and began taunting the police officers, laughing and celebrating the death of their comrades.

Haven't seen that yet.

I don't think I'm the only one, I just asked a question. Maybe my perspective is wrong, I'm just asking and sharing my thoughts.

It was a peaceful protest, until some radicalized folks decided to do this.

|This wasnt people who were part of the priest. These were people who have had a gripe with police for a long time. They plotted for a long time with their evil plan. They saw this opportunity where they knew police would be all over. They did this because they want war. Let's not give these punks what they want.

These people are not what BLM is about, not at all|

You are not getting all the information. I am hearing fro several sources that the protests around the country are anything but peaceful. It has been reported, though not widely, throughout the history of BLM that there the protests are full of hate and taunting of the police.

From the reports we have, the shooter started firing from a parking garage. So he wasn't participating in the protest.
