Sure, but remember 1990-93 time frame when early gen xers were just as whiny as millennials? Reference Reality Bites, Singles, or early seasons of Real World.

Difference is they got over it by about 96 or so.

Really wasn’t going for the “most likely to succeed” angle. That probably goes to the boomers who came of age when the job balance between blue and white collar jobs more closely matched the career intentions of most 18 year olds, so colleges weren’t over saturated with 3,000,000 psychology majors fighting for the same 20 jobs.

In some fields Gen X got screwed. In chemical engineering at my company I am going one of the few Gen X engineers. I was in the navy for nearly a decade so I hired on during the MONSTER hiring classes of (mostly millennials) in the late 2000’s.

Petrochemical hiring in the US was very low in the years between the oil crisis in the early 80’s and 2006-This only started to pick up because of the retiring boomers, and then further picked up with the shale boom in the early 2010’s. Effectively, even though oil prices are known daily, and it’s a gigantic industry, Gen X has been largely shut out of it (on the white collar side - the benefit of the blue collar side is you can join any industry at any time).

Gen x is the most forgettable

Gen X just has less people so by default you assume it’s better than others

We had our PC run from 90-93, and then PCU came out in 94 and killed it (is that movie really 25 years old? It seems more applicable today than it did in the 90’s?)
