Neighbor made a beaver dam out of branches and leaves.

It’s starting to really piss me off.

It’s unbelievable.

Yes debris pickup has been great in past year. Every Wednesday in 70810.

One hurricane and shite just stops. It’s crap.

This was posted 2 days ago on the Nextdoor site. I'm in 70808 with a pile of branches still sitting in my yard. I know they said on the news after the last storm that they would begin pickup the week of 10/19, but they seem to be moving very slowly.

City of Baton Rouge/Parish of East Baton Rouge
Director of Environmental Services Richard Speer • 2 days ago
Hurricane Delta Debris Removal Update. Neighbors,

We are steadily making progress with our debris removal operations following Hurricane Delta.

Over the past week, we have completed operations in two neighborhoods – Westminster and Pine Park – and are expanding into additional areas impacted by the storm.

We currently have crews active in the following areas: Tara, Old Goodwood, Shenandoah, Sherwood Forest, South Harrells Ferry, Jefferson and Bocage, North Sherwood, Mid City and Southdowns. In the coming week, we will expand into additional neighborhoods and areas that include Broadmoor, Lobdell, Pollard Estates, Kenilworth, Jefferson Terrace, North Foster, Glen Oaks, Oak Hills, Hoo Shoo Too, Elliot Road, Tiger Bend Road, Riverbend and the Highland Road corridor between Siegen and Interstate 10.

Fencing damaged by the storm may not be covered by FEMA for emergency debris removal. In response, Republic Services will soon begin picking up damaged fencing as part of their normal garbage collection services and operations.

Please continue to be patient with our crews as we navigate throughout these and future areas. The vegetative nature of the debris created by this storm, including scattered piles of branches and sticks, makes it time intensive for our crews and trucks to collect. All storm debris and trash should continue to be separated into piles and placed curbside for efficient collection based on the attached diagram.

Thanks as always for your understanding and assistance as we continue to work as hard as possible in our ongoing hurricane response and recovery efforts.

I lost a tree in the 70809. A BIG tree. So now I have a huge patch of dead grass in my front yard. I have no hope they will ever get it at this point.

This city’s services are an extreme disappointment.

I really think they hired mom & pop debris removal service with a fleet of like 2 trucks to manage the entire city because they were the low-bidder. That and Republic Services charges more (God forbid).

But the trade off is, it takes two months to get some branches after a modest wind event. And everyone’s yard dies in the meantime.

Yeah I’m salty. I just moved all my branch piles because my grass was turning yellow.

I’m visiting family in the 70808 and debris piles are everywhere. She can’t manage something as simple as picking up debris, but she sure finds a way to put up as many signs as possible in front of the shitty Burbank developments telling everyone she’s responsible for that.

I know the grass below it is dead, but I would at least like to start the repair process.

Some things never change! Lived in EBR back in the days of Hurricane Andrew....it took weeks and they still never picked it up.

Long story short......I burned it and dared those frickers to say anything!

You are lucky it’s an election year or you’d never get service.
