I take issue with them calling themselves a city.
But that motto is legit.
ETA: In Louisiana a place must have at least 5000 people to be a city. As of the 2010 census, Bunkie is 829 people short of that.

I don't think it's Shipley anymore. I went a few months back and they had changed the name to "Pop Pop Donut Shop." Probably the best donuts I've ever eaten, back when the old man was still running things.
