Does being an official sponsor or partner really help that much?

I'm guessing so, or else businesses wouldn't do it.

However, it just doesn't make sense to me. It's not like as a Saints fan I all of a sudden want to buy a Mercedes. I heard a radio commercial talking about Rouses being a partner of LSU. Who cares? I shop there because the stores are nice and prices are good.

Obviously this is not the mindset of the average consumer.

Just another way to get your name out to the public.

Plus, I know a Nascar fan, and he will distinctly buy peoducts that sponsor races.

A lot of companies do it as part of getting a suite in the stadium. And it may help with advertising to idiots. Most of us know Canes chicken is far better than McDonalds chicken. But McDonalds is the "official chicken tender of LSU football". I gotta imagine some idiots are hearing that and going to get mcdonalda

I could see this for smaller, local businesses, but what about Gillette stadium? Who the hell goes and buys razors because they name a stadium after themselves??

Dudley Debosier spends $50k annually to be the official injury lawyers of LSU, getting to blast that to 90k a week in the stadium and all over TV.

Yeah I know a couple of NASCAR fans like that as well. But that is really the only sport I’m aware of like that.

I guess maybe because in most sports we don’t really associate the sponsor with the individual/team, but NASCAR the sponsor is plastered all over the driver, the car, and every time they’re mentioned their sponsor is as well.

Getting your name plastered all over the programs, stadium signs, TV, radio, in some cases free tickets, a suite, hospitality tents/parties, etc.... there are tons of perks being an official sponsor. Whether it’s college or NFL, and that shite ain’t cheap either.

Throw in his suite and it’s more than that.

There aren’t 90k in the stadium every week, there may be 90k in the stadium once or twice a year for a quarter or 2. The other 4 games there’s only 50k-70k.

And his TV commercials aren’t included in that deal.

Much more return for the ad dollar.

I go to the closest grocery store.

But if I'm a season ticket holder and need a personal injury lawyer, Dudley is going to be one of the first who comes to mind.

Not if you're a sponsor of the NFL right now.
