The 3 Blind Mice were locking down Chimes Street back in the late 80's early 90's.

Valley Park Mob had a neighborhood click back around the same times. NBR had the Makin' (MCM) Ca$h Money Boyz around the same times.

ETA: forgot about the Zion City Boyz (never heard them called Smurfs)

And the various Wrecking Crews, i.e. SBR WC, NBR WC, EBR WC, WBR WC.

I watched a documentary on NOLA gangs and they said they are neighborhood cliques, and that real organized gangs like the Bloods & Crips won't take hold in S.LA. bc the culture isn't down for those types of cliques.
