I am looking possibly adopting a beautiful chocolate lab/golden retriever mix and I was curious about owning one. We currently own a golden retriever and love him.

But before we adopt our next one, for those that have a lab/golden retriever mix....what are your thoughts on raising one? Any pros/con? Anything I should be on the look out for before I adopt it?

They are similar breeds. Just raise / train the mix like your other dog and you will be fine.

Had a chocolate one and loved him

Used to put his tennis ball right in my line of lawnower to force game of fetch

That said energy of a golden retriever smarts of lab loved to cause shite.

I have a dachshund now. Love the dachshund but he does whatever could give a shite what I say. My lab/gr if I talked mean to him he was freaking heart broken

previous lab/weimeraner mix was a great dog but the little shite used to steal bread out of the breadbox and "bury" it in the cushions of our couch

Well I’ve had both a lab and a golden before and both were incredible dogs so I assume the mix would be to. I’d go for it

Damn.

Wife and I got a golden two years ago, and love the thing to death.

Always hurts me to read/hear people tell stories of great dogs they used to have. I know I'm gonna be a wreck when we lose this one. Sorry man

Thanks he had a good run

My favorite we taught him to get the paper as a puppy. Adorable when paper is bigger than him. Not so much when you come home and realize he climbed over 6ft privacy fence, but felt guilty about it so stole a neighbor's paper and left it at front door lol

You go to backyard and he acts like nothing happened lol

Had a golden yellow lab mix, one of the best dogs ever. Great personality, smart, and really great around anyone and everyone.

Of course with this breed none of that should be a shock.

Sounds like an awesome dog.

My two favorites. Especially the golden retriever, like you already have.
