I always wanted to know if people actually think she is funny. I looked on youtube for some of her standups.. And look, I know everyone has a different sense of humor, but man I never found her in the least bit funny.

Who knew that you could have a popular show when it's premise is having companies give you money and gifts to give away to audience members.

Oddly, I had dinner last night in Park City, with a guy who knew Vance and played music with him back in the day. He said he met Ellen at a large dinner party once but did not really speak to her. However, he did say he saw a threesome in a Green Room once in which one girl was down on another while a dude was banging the gourmand from behind. Neither girl was Ellen, though.
What made it funny was that the repast and the dude were both in my friend’s band that was between sets, and during this episode they both were reviewing set sheets.

A girl I went to college with is her cousin. We had a group meeting, and she told us to be sure to watch Johnny Carson that night because her cousin Ellen Degeneres was a comedian and would be on the show. That was her Tonight Show debut in '86 and the first time I had heard of her.

Don’t know her but I literally bumped into her one night as she and her wife were leaving Arnaud’s. She laughed about it and seemed pleasant.

I know her brother Vance. He had a great band called the Cold. I met her at one of their gigs at Jimmys. Pretty quiet, just seemed like a regular chick.
