The seats for driver and front passenger are crap. Not designed well and cause back issues. I had one for work for 7 years and they suck bad because of the seats. Their AC system is horrible.

I would look at something else personally.

I have been renting an Armada 2019 for our trip and it is comfortable and has some power with the V8. Very roomy for the kids in 2nd and third row. However storage is limited with both rows being used. Nice otherwise and much nicer than the Explorer.

Wife has a 17 explorer sport. It'll go, but that Ecoboost ain't Eco nothing. It's all boost. Fun to drive though. No complaints.

The new Explorers are minivans. So win-win.

No thanks, Rover man here. Far better than American made vehicles.
did you purchase the optional tow truck following 1/4 mile behind for the first 12,000 miles?

My wife drives an ‘18 model that we bought this time last year. She loves it. Very spacious for a midsize. She drove an enclave before that. I usually only drive it when we go on long trips but I like the ride. She hasn’t had a single bad thing to say about it.

I have a 1998. Never had a major issue with it. Have found no reason to not keep it.

Wife has a ‘13 and haven’t had a single problem with it. Currently at 86k. Only complaint is with two car seats it’s pretty cramped for space. Oldest just went to booster seat which opened her back up a little.

Wasn't it the Explorers that had exhaust leaking into the passenger compartment? And Ford couldn't figure out why it was happening?

Yes, there was a recall on it last year.

Just bought a VW ATLAS. Look at iihs reviews on Explorer. Safety ratings are garbage. You're welcome.

Fleet managers know why it’s haplening. Ford knows why it’s happening. They just don’t want to fix all of them.

Check out the VW Atlas. It's like a mix between a range Rover and a explorer.

We just bought 2018 explorer with 2.7 L ecoboost. Love it. We also got the captains chairs in he back. Getting about 24 mpg so far. Has good power as well.

VW Atlas

Very cheaply built. And very underpowered

Eta; I rent explorers often for work and I enjoy them. Vs Acadia or anything Dodge.

My wife has a pathfinder and I like the explorer much more . Went with the Pathfinder because of price

Looks goofy too.

XC90 is the answer.
