Does Anyone Here Actually Have Aflac?

Do you pay the premium for it or does your employer?
I don't know anyone with an Aflac supplemental policy personally.

Not exactly sure what Aflac is to be honest, I just know they make awesome commercials. So I might have it, I guess.....

Worksite policies like AFLAC are terrible compared to a true benefits package from your employer. If you can't have ANYTHING else - it's ok

I have a short term disability policy with the hospital I work with. Starts to kick in if I miss a week of work.
Didn't think it was through Aflac. I sprained my foot and was out of work for two weeks (can't work as a nurse on my unit if you are on crutches) and sure enough...the check I received in the mail had that damn duck on it

I cut a check to AFLAC at work every month. Only guys in the warehouse have it, no one in the office does

I have several AFLAC supplemental policies that I have never had to use.
They are reportedly good about fast processing and payment of disability claims after being the exact opposite for a while.

My injury happened in 2010. I remember I got my claim check pretty quickly. And it was actually more than I expected it to be.

I've been off work since Nov. 7 and my salary has been paid by a Mutual of Omaha policy my employer provides. Visited my cardiologist yesterday and he cleared me to return to work February 1 and this policy will pay me until then.

I have a friend that sells it, so I bought a Hospital Policy. Essentially its to get paid for having a baby. We bought the policy before my wife got pregnant. I think the premiums are about $10/month. When both of my kids were born it paid us over 2k for each one. Covered all of our hospital bills.

You recovered and got married.
We all saw the steamy beach photos.

I've got CALFA. I pay them when I get sick or injured.

Congrats. Two months is not too bad for open heart surgery and dying on the table. Glad you're doing well enough to go back to work.

I had it when I was still on my parents plan (turned 26 in July) and it appeared to be pretty fricking awesome, but my family nor myself was the one paying for it.
We had to collect a crap ton of paper work to actually make the claim, but it was usually worth it.
I pocketed close to a few grand in cash when I tore my ACL playing college football.

Yes I do, and I offer it as a benefit to my employees with us splitting it 50/50

I've always wondered, are the premiums pricey at all?
I saw someone mentioned $10 for a hospital one, but is there like a basic general plan?

The injury was me falling while playing Wii fit and badly spraining my foot in the process.
Talk about embarrassing having to explain that injury your doctor.

Thanks!
But by then it will have been just shy of three months. My first open heart surgery was on Nov. 14 my second surgery, the emergency surgery where I coded, was on Nov. 21.
but I am looking forward to getting back to a somewhat normal life. One bad thing though is he told me he did not want me on my motorcycle until I was 6 months past surgery so it will be May before I can ride again.

Supplemental insurance that pays cash directly to you instead of the doctor/hospital/etc....
Or at least I believe that's how it works. I've never actually used it.
