“Ask your doctor if Skyrizi is right for you.”
Skyrizi? What the frick kind of name is that?
Who the frick thinks of these shitty names? Makes me wanna choke a mutherfricker.

Teams of marketing experts. Big expensive teams.

And I can’t tell you what any of them are for.
They’re almost as annoying as ambulance chaser commercials.

We had to rename a spin-off company a few years back. Finding something that isn’t taken, easily spoofable, or offensive in some language is hard as hell.

I tried making up some B.S. corporation names
Integrant
Foundatian
Reliatude
Fortifent
Impacton
Confidor
Trustient
Partnor
Trustworth
At least 6 of the 9 seem to be taken.
The market on bullshite has apparently been cornered.

Xyzal is kind of catchy plus I can break it out on words with friends.

30 Rock had a hilarious episode about that.

Why is Boniva, not for erectile disfunction.

Thanks, buddy, I ended up with an ad for something called Aimovig at the top of my screen.

The process of a drug company naming a new drug is pretty interesting.

I'm taking something called Abilify. The generic name is aripiprazole, which sounds like something you order at Olive Garden.

Drug names today really are annoying. The older names made more sense.
Premarin is made from pregnant mare urine.
Armour Thyroid is porcine origin

I used to be one of the people coming up with the names.
Pharma advertising companies are part of the process, as are other companies that exist solely to do naming.
The names are informed by a creative brief, they're vetted through a trademark search, checked to make sure they won't cause confusion with another drug on the market, and market researched.
I was one of the leads on the team that launched Trintellix. Which was actually launched as Brintellix, but the name had to later be changed because some dumbass confused it with Brilinta.
