I would pay extra for entire loaves made from the end pieces nobody else wants. They are superior to center cuts of bread in every way - taste, texture & toastability.

They are perfect for a fold over sandwich. My dad was the King of the Fold Over Sandwich.

Bad move. it gives insulation to the rest of the bag. Now you made the next piece in line go stale faster.

This is my philosophy as well.

Favorite sandwich is a double end piece.

By far. We leave the ends in place to keep the loaf fresher, but yesterday it was down to about 6 slices left so I said screw it, double end sandwich.

I only eat the ends because no one else will eat them. If its homemade bread the ends are my first choice.

I confess, I'm likely a minority but yes, I like what my Mama called the 'heals.'

Never understood this silliness, open the bread and use the first two slices. Cutting the edges off is silly as well.

End pieces make the best hot dog sandwiches because they can take a lot of ketchup/mustard/relish without falling apart.

Also very much in agreement with “S” , the ends of baguettes are the best, really enjoy that hard stiff crust, put lots of butter on it, mmmmmm,…..so good

Bread is bread. But I figure much if the OT has mum cut the crust off.

First time I open the bag, I grab the end piece and throw it to the turtles and fish in my pond

I keep them in the bag because I think they keep the rest of the loaf from drying out. But I rarely ever eat an end piece.
