Sometimes. Not all the time though. That's kind of what alcohol does though. You keep drinking to try and stay there but usually over due it at the same time.

If I have one, I'm good.

Same for 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.

But there comes a moment when drinking where 1800 years of blood comes into play...

It's just a moment where the switch flips and the euphoria that's chill turns into euphoria like a coke head. A belief that I can literally do anything. I keep my morals, I lose fear.

In my 20’s I was pretty hard to handle. Would be black out drunk at least 3-4 nights a weeks.

I’ve calmed down ALot since marriage and kids.
I find just having a glass of wine at night and a few beers by the pool on the weekends is enough for me.

Sometimes the old me comes out and I show my arse at events that I regret the next day lol.
My anxiety goes through the roof nowadays when I drink beer multiple days in a row and I feel like shite .

Yes, and that is why I had to stop drinking permanently last April. Have not had a drink since 4/18/22. That was a very bad day for me, but life has been fantastic since.

So at most I can have one drink, and then that's it. Anything more will result in feeling like I downed a case.

Might as well down a case then.

Ahhhhhh a good blowout every now and then to clean the pipes is mostly warranted. The guilt on the other hand sucks. It to shall pass.....

You are in a depression. It’s part of the manic swings of alcohol. Everything is fine. The one’s that matter aren’t judging you like you are judging yourself. If it happens again in the next few days, reach out.

Time to grow up, buddy. If you don't get a handle on this, 8th Grade will be very difficult for you.

You’re right. It’s their problem. And their problem is the friend or family member who is a drunk. And the normal solution they find it stay away from the drunk.

It’s normally the friend or family that says frick em.

I’ve made things awkward for lots of people. I’m an embarrassment to myself and my family.

As long as this isn’t a regular occurrence and assuming it’s true that typically those around you enjoy your rare drunken antics, I would apologize and not worry too much about it.

Most people can relate to having a little TOO much fun. Hell, life is hard, gets harder every year, and it’s nice to liberate the brain for an evening every now and then.

But to answer your question, I don’t personally have this issue of “zero control” once I get going, but I know people who do. They certainly have to really take note of the environment they’re about to start drinking in.

No. And in fact I have been actively trying to increase my intake.

I just had a baby and have had some time off so it only made sense to drink heavier.

Eta: plus its fun to drink and watch the Masters

Just be honest with yourself about it. I wasn’t and it almost ruined my marriage. Alcohol is a bitch sometimes.

I have no problem not drinking or controlling my drinking. I don’t drink much at all though.

This is important and something I’ve taken into deep consideration when drinking around people. If we’re close friends I’ll let it rip with you (he lurks in the desktop shadows) if I don’t know you I’m getting a water between drinks and only having one or two.

But if I’m with the boy’s we’re hitting harrah’s, taking mixtape photos with traffic cones, and likely talking to girls we cannot afford.
