No, but, I’ve been in a full motion airbus a320 flight simulator. Unbelievably realistic, from the taxiing to the take off if was totally like a real plane. Very cool.

At $9 million plus $400k in installation costs, it probably doesn’t make sense for home use (nor could you actually buy one, if you wanted), but it was a cool experience. My job is boring 90% of the time but get to do cool stuff once in a while

I have the yolk unit and foot peddles hooked up to my computer with the X-Plane software. No need for an actual simulator unless your flying heavy iron or fighter jets. I think it was less than $500 for the yolk, peddles and software.
I’ll bet your favorite airport is Egglin Air Force Base?

I had Top Gun on Nintendo. Does that count?

No. You never learned how to successfully land.

I landed after that first mission one time on accident. I didn't even play the second mission I was so shocked.

Of course, because I usually land sunny side up there. But sometimes I come in too hot and scrambled to land so if I can't do a go around I try to not be too runny off the end of the runway.

My uncle had a really bad arse one. He even built and sold frames for them for a little awhile.

ETA: his is a jet fighter simulator. I can’t remember which fighter he modeled his after. It’s not a commercial airliner like in the OP.

We got a computer in the late 90s that came preloaded with Microsoft Flight Simulator. It had no directions or anything so it was a miracle to get the damn plane in the air. Forget about actually finding another airport and landing the thing. I found an instruction booklet later on and had lots of fun with that.

As an adult I looked into getting the newest version they had and just laughed when I saw the price. I dont remember exactly how much but it was crazy expensive for basically a computer game.
