Not true. Local track here has amateur night and you could literally run your 89 blazer down that beast. Just have to have Windows up and seatbelt on.

No, they won't let you run it because it has 840 hp and no roll cage. You can run your standard SRT, but not something like this. That's what makes this thing stupid.

The Challenger merely is a re-bodied Chrysler 300. Cruiser for sure.

Well it's been a few years. I will say if you are confident then I believe you.

This is a sanctioned track I was talking about, but it's in a very rural location. I doubt they'd even care/pay attention.

They take your money, write a # on the windshield and then control the lights.

I even had my friend in a sports car race a truck with nos and crazy hp. (Granted the truck had a cage and you could tell it wasn't street legal)

Correct... For one pass, then you are flagged.

Kind of like the OT's mindset/way of thinking.

I think it's 4500lbs or so... Ridiculous

The ZL1 isn’t that much lighter FYI.

Challenger is also built on a sedan chassis...it’s a big GT car. Don’t know why people get so up in arms over it.

And yet the Street Outlaws can still beat it easily.

Yes and if that blazer runs under an 11 second 1/4 mile it needs a roll cage as well. It has nothing to do with the type of car it is. Most tracks anything under an 11 needs a roll cage. This car is capable of a sub 10 quarter according to specs.

Yes it is, nearly 700lbs lighter.. that's HUGE.

2017 ZL1 w/ automatic = 3,944
2018 Demon = 4,280

So roughly, 330 lbs. In terms of 1/4 mile racing, I suppose 330 lbs could make a difference...but just in general, no.

Still don’t understand the outrage people have toward the Challenger being a heavy car. It looks good, goes fast, sounds good, and is incredibly comfortable...so what if it’s heavy? Most people buying a Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger don’t care about anything but straight line speed in the first place.

You can't be that dumb, can you?

This is a stock car that has 840 hp.

Their cars are fixed up a ton with aftermarket parts and have around 2000-2500 hp.

It is a collectors car.

I wonder if anyone will ever match (bone stock) the 9.65 Dodge uses as the 1/4 figure.

It is heavy and is significantly compromised as a street car. Plus, a Tesla S would be faster 0-60 on the street.

It has some interesting firsts for a production car but you could spend half the money on a nice daily driver and half the money on a quicker/safer car for the track.

Yeah, although 3300 isn't exactly "low production" IMO.
