The official curb weight is 4,280. Whether or not that is “nearly 4,500” is relative. However, if you’re going to imply that the ZL1 being 330 lbs lighter than the Demon makes a huge difference, then by your own logic the Demon is not “nearly 4,500”.

Way over priced! You could buy a new regular model and put a $20K motor in it and save $50K.
Hell you could build just about any model of the 60s or 70s muscle cars cheaper than $100K in that HP range.

Not necessarily, both are the "top end" option for both models. They may have different intentions but they will no doubt be compared against each other.

No they won’t. One is literally designed to go in a straight line on a quarter mile track while the other is literally designed to go around a road course. No one is cross shopping these two except to hang onto in the hopes of value doubling on 30+ years.
The only reason I compared them is to show that Chevy’s most powerful coupe offering still weighs a lot.
The “it’s too heavy” and “it can’t go around a corner” arguments are old and honestly have no merit because 1. the Challenger was never designed to to such and 2. companies are proving heavy cars can corner since cars have steadily been going up in weight. Even the 911 Turbo, a renowned track weapon, weighs over 3,500.
