Life expectancy being lower in the USA has nothing to do with our healthcare system being worse than other countries. This is a tired trope and I thought this election was about rejecting this type of "elite" misinformation.

Life expectancy is lower in the US because of murders, worse diets, opiods and a few other things like more car accident deaths. Medicare for all or Universal Healthcare will do nothing to decrease any of these things.

shite is way more widespread than people know. Even a lot of the ones that are still practicing at my hospital pretty readily admit to just being completely burned out.

If doctors are burned out due to Medicare/ Medicaid patients being 60-70% of their case load, why do these same doctors and medical people think that European healthcare that is 95%+ government funded is better?

The little I know the government BS isn’t that bad, it’s simply a lot of doctors don’t like to be told how to practice and it pisses them off they have to do it differently than they want to. A lot of it also comes down to being a more uniform treatment process.

I do think the biggest bullshite in medicine is the inability to be able to get a quote for a typical service outside of plastic surgery and elective procedures. Even dentists can quote you. Yet you need to have something fairly routine like a broken arm or 6 stitches, no one has a clue what the cash bill would be.

Y'all need to read closer. There was more to it than "he can't feed his family"

Then why even add that?

On average, physicians are doing better than 95% of the population. Absolutely none of them are struggling to feed their family unless they live way beyond their means or are so bad at their practice they can't find employment.

I can understand your other points in the OP, but adding that part just makes it melodramatic bullshite.

have a local doc that 10 years ago went to a subscription based service.

Mine as well. We pay a monthly fee, and he doesn't deal with Blue Cross or HMO’s at all. He’s never regretted going this route.

The only downside: hospitals cut off admitting privileges to doctors that leave “the system”.

California gets paid more by medicare by anyone else and even moreso in San Fran, LA, Sandiego etc. They get almost double what we do in Arkansas(Arkansas is the lowest) and private insurers base their rates on a multiple of medicare. Kaiser doctors don't have clue how much they are making off of them. It's like union work. Better doctors don't fair much better than shitty ones. I know plenty of doctors that have worked for them. I can run a business though. Most cringe at the thought. Big cities (votes) are paid better, but the cost of doing business isn't as different as they factor in. Now we all use the same online vendors and pay the same for equipment and supplies, yet I'm re-imbursed half as much for the same or higher quality care. Rural states are subsidizing healthcare in the large blue cities and states. Give me 75% of what they re-imburse in cali and I'll STFU for another 20 years.

How can you not think Obamacare is not linked to doctors fleeing medicine? Obama are literally forces practices to be swallowed up by hospitals. 75% of physicians work for a hospital system. Those hospitals inflict permanent mental damage on doctors. They quit or move to non-clinical jobs. Sometimes people don’t like the truth or can digest it. You asked a question and a doctor answered you….

This has been bizarre to observe with older family members. It's like they want to squeeze every last cent they possible can out of you. Running tests that meant absolutely nothing (and wouldn't change the outcome) was the norm.

My sister in law is a doctor and she said she would urge anyone thinking about going to med school to please not. Her main reason, insurance. Our system is seriously flawed.

An MD walking away from practice in their 50s is fully capable of retiring. It’s not like these guys are giving up a career that they desperately need
