Only if you're currently an in-patient in a hospital and even then you have to meet requirements set out by CDC...said outpatient testing is not available and we're several days or weeks away from outpatient testing in the BR area
What. The. frick.
EBR superintendent said decision to keep schools open is based on no positive cases in EBR...well no shite, that'll happen when you're flat out not testing for it.

Other states are using private labs and the state issues guidelines for who is tested. BR better get with the program.

Baton Rouge, the only thing we’re number one at, is coming in last place.

This testing bullshite is the single greatest black eye on the federal government regarding this situation. No reason whatsoever AMERICA can’t get the testing done in a manner that is equally efficient to other countries or better.

Baton Rouge is fundamentally a small town. Testing or no testing, if OLOL, General, etc. are suddenly overflowing with people in ICU due to respiratory illness, we are absolutely going to hear about it one way or the other. I know people have been hinting about 1 or 2 presumptive cases at each place, but if it gets out of control you can bet social media will explode with the info

This is absolutely ridiculous, country is shutting down piece by piece for a virus that health professionals aren't even testing for in BR. Serious vs not serious is another debate, but it would be nice to know if you have it
Do you drive to New Orleans to get tested? Beg to be admitted in a BR hospital?

What does that have to do with lack of testing in the state capital and home to the largest public university in the state?

I've been using the Mitch Hedberg testing method and just asking my friends if they know anyone with coronavirus.
So far, I'm clean!

This is the case across the country.

CDC already expanded requirements.
Call and complain to your governor.
Recent guidelines:
Priorities for testing may include:
Hospitalized patients who have signs and symptoms compatible with COVID-19 in order to inform decisions related to infection control.
Other symptomatic individuals such as, older adults and individuals with chronic medical conditions and/or an immunocompromised state that may put them at higher risk for poor outcomes (e.g., diabetes, heart disease, receiving immunosuppressive medications, chronic lung disease, chronic kidney disease).
Any persons including healthcare personnel2, who within 14 days of symptom onset had close contact3 with a suspect or laboratory-confirmed4 COVID-19 patient, or who have a history of travel from affected geographic areas5 (see below) within 14 days of their symptom onset.
