I go jackpot hunting at the casino.

No expensive lease to maintain, no siting in a gnat invested duck blind or deer stand in freezing cold weather. No side by side or boat needed to maintain.

Just slip hundred dollar bills in a machine and hope for a winner.

After you are done, go eat one of their fine establishments using your points or a mail offer.

No ducks or deer to clean and package away.

For everyone saying it’s boring, that’s the part I enjoy. No place I’d rather be than in the woods at daylight watching the world wake up. Watching the animals that have no idea about how important it is that I get my budget approved. It’s in these moments I forget too

Sometimes it’s just nice to sit in nature and enjoy the peace and quiet. I deer hunt a lot and enjoy feeding and watching them more than I do shooting them nowadays.

I feel the same about golf, but I spend as much time as possible in the woods!

I grew up rabbit hunting with dogs… is that still a thing anymore? Never hear any chatter on that….

Haven’t hinted in 30 years probably. If I had money and time to kill I’d probably get into it just to mess around in the woods

I just find it boring, particularly deer hunting Duck hunting is more fun if you are in a blind with your baws but I dont go out of my way to do it and havent been in a few years

At least with deer hunting you get something that you actually want to eat.

With phones now you can text buddies and see what they’re seeing in other stands and post on TD.

I’m in a stand right now.

I’m currently sitting 30’ up an oak in northern Missouri. My bow is hanging beside me. There is a western breeze on the crisp, 39° morning. The sky is clear.

I’m watching turkeys feed in cut corn to my right. A family of coons are playing in the creek. Squirrels are cutting acorns all around me.

I have yet to see a deer this morning, but I already have a nice 8 in the ice chest bag at the cabin, so I don’t mind just sitting here, enjoying a gorgeous morning.

I don’t think many people get to experience the waking of nature quite like hunters do. A warm bed is nice, but these are moments that refresh the mind.

How does one who’s never hunted get into hunting? I could give it a shot. I know I can’t just get a gun and walk into some random woods.

Man I miss the days before city slickers started leasing up land to try to grow big bucks to put on the wall to show how manly they are.

I remember once as a kid we were driving home one night and a deer crossed the road. The next morning my dad took me back and we hunted there. Those days are gone.

Pretty sure it was the whole "killing innocent creatures" part of your post that drew his ire, and simultaneously proved you to be a fig.

Hunting, fishing, hiking can help reset your mind which is programmed for instant gratification.

Ever since i had kids and they started playing sports, cheer, etc, i haven’t had time to hunt in a very long time. There is some kind of game/event every weekend from the time school starts till next June when baseball ends. Then there is summer stuff
it’s a constant in my life. Each Monday I have big plans. By Tuesday my wife has reminded me of 8 events thru Saturday

I’m the idiot. I keep thinking it will get better. But the middle one is driving now, so some of the crap is reducing. Now summer ball requires huge travel, and he can’t check into a hotel, and we don’t know anyone in his team well enough to pawn him off

Most these guy's Grandparents depended on killing wild game to make it through the Great Depression.
In the 50's we hunted rabbits, squirrels, and such for food .

You're either predator or prey.
