Of course.

Also looks like some good movies coming out in October:

Many Saints of Newark
Venom: Let There be Carnage
Dune
The French Dispatch
No Time to Die

I am young. Movies suck now. Directors/writers I previously liked are rolling out really, really boring films, and mainstream dramas are either extremely cliche or fall completely flat. Even the indy films are going dull.

Everything else seems to be a remake or based on a comic book.

There are some in the 2010s I liked, but they're few. I can watch almost any well-received movie from the 90s and love it (avi related)

Her
Birdman
We need to talk about Kevin
Black Swan
Wolf of Wall Street

The last five years though have been awful. When Lady Bird is the highest rated, there's a serious writing problem. I liked Lady Bird, but other than having good writing (which should be an expectation) it's an extremely average field.

Yes, definitely. I have gone to see every movie I have wanted to see and could see since COVID hit. I love the theater experience.

Never say never but it certainly won’t be as much as I used to……COVID took a change that I thought was coming in 5-10 years and made it an immediate change.

I also think this is a great question. With 4 K TVs, sounds bars, and streaming services green lighting every thing from award winning programming to local farts…theaters seem obsolete. They still are fun from time to time, but will my children enjoy them? I am not so sure.

I went a few months ago after not going for years. I don’t care for it but I have a room with a projector and a old school pop corn machine but the wife still likes going to the theater.

I went for F9 IMAX (sucks that the Kung Flu killed the 3D part) this summer and will be going for the Bond movie. Last spring we rented out a theater for 3 hours so my kid could play PS5 on it. Them delaying Top Gun again sucks.

I think them making Top Gun again sucks. Maybe not all remakes are trash but most of them are. Come up with your own ideas.

I've been to the movies like 10 times since they reopened. It's one of my favorite past times.

HBO, Amazon, etc etc are all dandy but nothing bears watching a new movie on the big stream away from my pugs and frenchie snoring hours on end while I try to watch on my TV

Part of the problem I have with remakes is that 20 years ago, they remade movies that people barely remembered (Ocean's Eleven, Scarface, etc.). Now they're remaking movies that people very clearly have seen before and they're marketing them to the same people who enjoyed the original.

If they really want to cash in on nostalgia, just re-release the originals in theaters

Not sure I’d have ever sat in a movie theater again had the pandemic never happened.

I think I’ve been maybe twice in the last decade.

Doesn’t come close to a theater experience.

Depends on what you’re waiting on

You need to find a better theater

I’m pretty sure most working adults could use that excuse. It’s not like that’s something new.

Well they just had a year where nobody could go to a theater so you have a point there.
