Do you think you’ll ever sit in a movie theater again?

That’s actually a good question. Probably no.

ETA: I haven’t been to a movie theater since probably 2005’ish

Sure but not very often. Mostly because there really aren't any good movies being released anymore

Doubtful. I prefer shows or a comedy club to any movie in any theater, and I don't see where the two should be valued anywhere near the same price, but they are.

No. Has nothing to do with covid. Movies are crap today and not worth my time.

I been thinking about it. I'm sure we'll go to a movie again. I think the last movie we took the kids to was Lion King in 2019.

The wife and I went to the theater for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings a couple weeks ago.

Streaming services
Waiting on shite is easier these days
Theaters are dirty filled w 12 yr olds
I guess my life is preoccupied w other shite and I’ve formed habits of not going
Movie releases don’t seem as big of deals anymore

Back when it took almost a year for a hit movie to make it to home video, it was a necessity for a film lover to go to the theater.

For example, it took 15 months for Jurassic Park to finally come out on home video.

But the home video release video has become shorter and shorter, and now with COVID, we have seen the first taste of simultaneous releases.

Now, the only reason to go to the theater is for the spectacle of it. And very few films released today pay off on the spectacle like Jurassic Park did in 1993.

Plus, if you’re willing to invest, you can make a pretty decent home theater these days.

My kid likes the superhero stuff so I usually try to take her when one she really wants to see comes out but she'll be driving soon and won't want to go with me before long.

I'll be watching on HBO Max.

Haven't been in a theater in years and don't plan to again.
