Why does everything have to be a conspiracy?

Only if your name is Alice. Let’s see how many people understand that

I’ve never understood why we went to the moon in the first place other than bragging rights.
Why would we want to go back?

I thought is was due to a technological arms race with the USSR for space superiority. So I guess bragging rights.

A lot to be learned about ICBM tech trying to go to space

As long as we give jobs to people based on their skin color, emphatically no.

I’m afraid yeeting one’s spouse into space would be frowned upon in today’s society.
I know, I’m upset too.

You stated ‘we’ - ‘ever’ - ‘moon’
None of those are relevant this century.

remember Lagrange from math and physics (and the city in GA) but what are Lagrange points in terms of space travel?
Lagrange points are 5 semi-stable(require slight corrections every now and then) points around Earth’s orbit. The James Webb telescope sits at one of our Lagrange points. Also, fun fact, objects at the Lagrange point actually orbit the point itself if that makes sense.

SpaceX will have someone on it by 2027.

I recalled it was at L2 but was curious so looked it up.

The space program only took 8 years to get to the moon the first time.
Helped that they got 4-5% of the federal budget to do it.

It seems everyone that has posted in this thread to this point is unaware of the Artemis program.
If all goes according to plan, Artemis II and its crew will perform a lunar flyby in late 2024. Artemis III is then planned to land man on the Moon in late 2025.

You’d think with today’s technology they’d be able to stage a much better landing than last time.
