The highest I've seen was a couple of weeks ago, I got a screenshot on my phone, the temp was 107, heat index was 121.

It has been more humid this summer......and it won't quit raining. I usually don't have to mow my grass in the summer since I don't water it......it's a native lawn.....drives code enforcement nuts.

Heat Index is BS.

Compare an area with 90 degrees, cloudy, and 20% humidity to an area with 90 degrees, full sun, and 90% humidity than get back to me.

No. frick no. Temperature is not to be subjected to some aubritrary correction factor applied by some waddling fat arse who works in the air conditioning all day.

It was like 97 the other day in Houston and the "feels like" temp was 107. I thought it felt hotter than a 107 dry heat.

The humidity makes it stifling.

Yes
Heat index is legit
Kabul has summer temperatures (highs anyway) similar to many states in the south but their humidity is significantly less and it felt cooler than here in Louisiana or Georgia

90 in May feels hotter than 95 in August that's why you should focus on the relative temperature

I cut the grass today at 6 and it was as hot as I can ever recall it being cutting grass.. I was drenched and had to take a break before weed eating. It didn't feel nice.

It wasn't intended as a brag, I was just making the point I did strenuous activity and it wasn't that hot in spite of the heat index.

The heat index is total bullshite

Windchill is spot on though

What if it is 95 outside and the heat index says it feels like 107, but there is a breeze so it really feels like 105?

Verdict: Heat Index = bullshite

Wet skin from sweat plus air moving over said skin while biking makes for a cool ride in any conditions.
