Do you think the Heat Index is legit?

Earlier today it was 91 with a heat index of 107 and it felt nice. I rode my bike 30 miles and I sweat but it wasn't nearly as bad as if it was a temp of 107.....or even 100. Heat Index is BS.

If it was 107 the heat index would be much hotter. So you're probably right.

Heat index just takes into account temp and humidity, there are other factors such as cloudiness and wind (even if just a very light breeze) that affect what it feels like. That is why other projections, like accuweather's feels like temp take into account wind as well.

Typically when its over 100 here in Dallas, the humidity is low so the heat index is the same as the actual temp.
