And the courts aren't open...and before I get reminded. Yes...I know most of these guys don't take their cases to court.

Depending on the numbers, I could see it being reduced on a rolling basis. People too obsessed with 'muh gub'ment powah grab!' Edwards went overboard because he realized most people are idiots so if you implemented half-measures barely anyone would follow them. We already have evidence that the aggressive measures he implemented are working. Another week or two of positive numbers and it'll be time to consider easing restrictions.

In general, though, too many of you frickers have this insatiable need to grope every single remote member of your family on a daily basis.

No it isn't. I just told you what the experts recommended to the government and that if the government listens, there should be no justification to extend past April 30th.

Whether or not the government listens, I have no idea.

April 30th seems fairly reasonable. Then we need to start phasing the economy back online.

We'll have COVID tests and antibody tests everywhere by then.

basically it was one of Trumps advisory listing a checklist for the things when we could start easing restrictions

2 weeks of declining numbers was the first thing on the checklist

There's no conflict. He went overboard to get people to mostly stay at home in the latter half of March/start of April. The numbers are trending in a positive direction. Given the positive numbers, he can now ease up. There's no need to exaggerate when the numbers are trending positive. You can't just say 'Oh man, we got this thing beat,' because every Tom, Dick, and Cletus will go out and cough on each other.

Half-measures aren't sufficient when you're at the prime period of growth in the wake of Mardi Gras.

Half measures are sufficient when you're on the ebb of the regional outbreak and people have now been made acutely aware of distancing, hand washing, etc.
