Tiger Woods was a role model for me. Kids don't give a shite about the stuff your cynical, miserable adult mind concerns itself with. He was the best in his profession and worked his arse off. I respected the hell out of that as a teenager.

Why don't you learn some reading comprehension.

They certainly are in a position to have influence and have the platform whether I think they should or not.

But as a celebrity don't bitch that you are not a role model and then imply that I should look to your political beliefs and diatribes as some sort of self-righteous beacon of enlightenment to be followed

If you are going to capitalize on your fame to lift yourself up on a platform you should accept all the consequences that come with it

Your post was not deep at all. You commented on his golf skills then called him scum. What did I miss? We're you saying he is scum but a good role model for kids? Because that's worse.

I agree the parents should be the role models, but I understand a kid looking up to some one in the area they are interested in.

My daughter lives, eats, drinks, and breathes soccer. Her soccer role model is Alex Morgan, who didn't even start playing soccer until the age of 14. My daughter has read her book, studied her play, etc. She is a good person (unlike people like Hope Solo). Any dad would be very proud to have a daughter like Alex Morgan (whether she played soccer or not).

I wrote that TRAITS that some athletes displayed could be pointed out....He has TRAITS that are admirable. HE is NOT admirable...How could you miss that?

Sorry his Waffle house waitress screwing let you down. I have read numerous accounts of his treatment of 'little people'...it is sorely disappointing.

What does that mean in the context of being one of the greatest golfers ever? Do you play?

Lol, majority of Celebs were/are really shitty people. Pedo's, drug abusers, adulterers, etc.

So you agree or disagree that celebrities should be role models?

Kids aren't seeing the day to day life of these folks. So it's sort of pointless to say "they can respect the things they see but definitely not what they don't."

And look how upset you get at any amount of pushback on your opinion. I would say you would be a terrible role model as well.

Eta
Also, true and csb, I know one of his ladies fairly well. Nobody talks about it.

First line of my first post...

Exactly, that is why I said the traits could be pointed out.

Glad I didn't say anything this stupid.

Well considering you really have not disputed anything I ACTUALLY said...

About as relevant as the rest of your posts.

That's the kind of mature response I would expect from someone who admires Tiger Woods.

Depends on the celebrity, but generally no. We have way too many fanatics who obsess over celebrities. Besides, how many celebrities have died prematurely because of drug overdose? Or how many have gained fame for literally no reason at all? I don't want my kid to look up to someone who sucked a dick or took one in the arse to gain notoriety.
