I have never put my dog in a cage, and i think it's cruel to "kennel" a dog.
Are you under the impression that if you kenneled your dog he'd act better?

The little shite things your dog does that other people dislike, are things that he does at home but is never corrected for. I understand you want to do the things you like with your dog, like letting him jump up on you and on your furniture, and that's fine, but b/c you do that, he's going to think he can do that anywhere, and other people may not like that, so leave your dog home.

B/c of your lack of training your dog, he likely has become the alpha between you two and does whatever the hell he wants, likely b/c you think it's cute. And again, that's fine, but it's why he's a little shite with other people, so leave your dog at home.

I'm not just saying this because he's cute, but I could charm that pupper into behaving. I'm something of a pet whisperer.

Also, to answer the OP, only to my parents' house and only because they go out of their way to let us know it's okay.

We rescued a dog in September. My mother in law, who has never had a dog herself, absolutely loves her.

She wants her to come for Thanksgiving, but I don't think I'll do that. Not everyone appreciates a dog around when they're eating. Especially my brother in law who hates everything to do with pets.

This sounds about right

He's my son's dog but of course I do all the work.

No. I love my guys, but they can be bat crap crazy. Especially if they are in an unfamiliar place.
