Yes. That's what my AC guy wants so that's what he gets. I have not needed to get a new checkbook in over a decade though and probably won't ever again.

Yep. Everytime and establishment has a 3% or higher credit card fee, I break out my checkbook and waste everyone's time. And my cursive is very slow.

Property taxes and quarterly income tax payments. That is it, except for something rare. I wrote a check a couple of years ago when we had our HVAC units replaced and a couple of years before that when we had our roof replaced.

I was just at the grocery and the hold up was this women writing a check.
I do write checks for some bills but some of my billing is on-line. At stores, restaurants, etc. it's cash or card, never a check.
Last time I saw someone writing a check at a store was the local Rouses. I got behind a lady that had to be in her 80's and the cashier finished totaling up her stuff, told her what she owed------------THEN she started rummaging through her purse for her checkbook, wrote the whole thing out, had to present her ID and finally completed the transaction. It took her longer to write the check than it did for the cashier to total her groceries and bag them.

No. In fact, my pest control company is now charging a 3% credit card fee, or you can write a check. They started this policy in October, without any announcement ahead of time. I'm writing a check for the bill currently owed to them, and will no longer be using their services.

I write 1 check every two weeks, for my son’s daycare.
Aside from the occasional wedding and random one-off reasons, that’s pretty much it.

Pay the rent with a check, which affects you not at all.

Props for the OT non-ballers outing themselves with rent payments.
No shade here, but they coming for you.

I write maybe 10-12 a year. Getting to be less and less now that Venmo is a thing.

If you're going to write a check, have your Own fricking Pen, and fill in everything but the total while you're being rung up.
Don't do that writing in the air thing. Either ask for a pen, or, even better, have your own.

This is what I would do when I used checks at the grocery store, drug store, etc. Have everything filled out but the amount before I even left the house and just enter the total at the store.

My bank has bill pay, so I have the lawn guy set up and they mail him a check every month. I haven't written a check in years.
