It might seem like it, but think about how much information is conveyed by the sound of footsteps: How fast or slow a person is walking, do they have an impairment, etc. This is information your brain is processing sometimes without your realization of it.

You can use that to your advantage in life to stand out, in a good way.

That's why I opt for squeaky clown shoes. It lets people know that I'm not always serious, but at the same time, the clownfearers know I didn't show up to frick around.

This should be the first world problem of the day thread ...

" I'll pass on these shoes.. not nearly crisp enough of a step ."

This is the dumbest thread I've seen in a while, and that's saying something.

The marble hallways at our office echo your footsteps. I can usually tell who's coming down the hall just by the sound of their footsteps.

One time I bought a pair of shoes that squeaked so bad I felt like a clown. So yea, I check out how they sound before I buy now.

Those type of shoes would be a waste of perfectly good chloroform.

My Cole Haan loafers make the crisp sound you describe and I find it annoying. I sound like I'm walking down the hallway in high heels.

We have carpet, save for the lobby. Can be snuck up on rather easily. Except in the patient wings and research buildings, those are not carpeted.

No, I don't need for people to notice my shoes. Also, prefer quiet car exhaust.

I prefer shoes that make no sounds.

Make a recording and post both crisp and not crisp shoe sounds. Post for our entertainment and enlightenment.

That squish slap sound flip flops make is the trashiest walking sound.

Yes. Rubber soles are for running and boating.

For example walking on a tile floor and hearing very precise footsteps. Typically with fine dress shoes.

So basically you want to sound like a woman walking down the hall?

Sounds kinda queer.

Oddly enough, a few pair of Tods cap toes that I have came with a rubber sole. I'm not sure if I like them.
