Do you raise the seats after using your bathroom at work?

I just noticed someone did and I’m thinking why? This is in a stall and has the little pee gap on the seat as well. We have urinals so people can pee in those so why raise the lid?

Is that is what that is for? I thought the whole point of lifting the seat was to keep pee from splattering on it which will happen with a gap or no gap.

I always leave the seat up. Lets the next person that comes along know that I didn't pee with the seat down. You're welcome.
