Do you question the intelligence of people who smoke cigarettes?

I do. All the research, the obvious link to cancer and many other debilitating diseases, the awful smell, the yellow teeth. How can anyone with a brain continue to put them into their lungs? I absolutely don't understand purposely hurting your health.

No, but I do question the intelligence of dope smokers. Why do these idiots continue to do ILLEGAL drugs and complain when they get caught? Is their no respect for the law anymore?

I doubt it's as easy as you think it is. I've met plenty of people who are successful and driven who haven't been able to kick the habit.

I've been trying to quit for years. Have tried cold turkey, chantix, gum. Nothing works. I'm honestly considering changing jobs right now because it's so conducive to smoking.

Tons of the Ph.D.-level folks where I work are smokers. They're all 40+ though. I don't question their intelligence at all because I work with them and know they are smart. It does give me a general sense of how difficult it must be to quit, though.

How many intelligent people do you know who are overweight/obese.......even involved in healthcare? That's just as risky as moderately smoking.
