You'd have to ask my wife. The kitchen sink isn't my department.

Recently had my first ever problem with the disposal in my island sink. Had hardly been used. Talked to someone that used to manage apartments, said they are the least likely thing to break. Dug a little deeper (literally) found the stem from some grapes that a tenant must have thought would be a good grind tightly wound around the shaft below the blades. Yank that shite out, disposal purring again. Eggshells? Heck yeah

One piece of advice. My Dad once fed the "shells" of some redfish on the half shell down his disposal after a family dinner. My BiL and I spent the afternoon digging up the first 90 in his drain system those hides encountered in the front yard. Pretty effective plumber's plug based on that excavation.

Well my wife's lasagna did that.

Yeah, she doesn't cook much anymore.

I crush them up and feed them back to my chickens. It is a good source of calcium and helps them lay better eggs with thicker shells.

You can put eggshells down the garbage disposal, if your intent is replacing that disposal.

A basic rule is: if you can't eat it, don't put it down the insinkerator.

I break them up and feed them back to the chickens. It helps to recycle calcium and not lay soft-shell eggs.

Feeding them to the chickens is the right answer. I miss yard eggs.

I have a wasteking. that thing can handle crab shells better than your insinkerator can handle egg shells.
